Hi friends,
Can you believe it's almost the 4th of July? Independence Day is an annual celebration of freedom for most Americans, and our goal continues to be to provide our diverse population the tools and training to achieve their highest capacity for independence.
As I write this, the California budget is a done deal. On June 15, the Legislature passed a budget that included a rate increase for our service system. However, the next day Brown and the two houses' leaders deleted the increase, and called for a "special session" for rate funding for the developmentally disabled. We don't know when the Legislature will get down to business in the special session, or how long it will go on, so please stay tuned. You can read more about this here.
Along with the State, PathPoint also starts its fiscal year on July 1. Thank you all for your advocacy and support. As we get the most we can out of every dollar of support, each of our divisions actively seeks out new ways to collaborate with other organizations and engage with the community.
