PathPoint Celebrates CFO Patricia Enger’s 40th Work Anniversary
(September 12, 2017) PathPoint celebrated the 40th work anniversary of Patricia Enger, Chief Financial Officer. Patty joined PathPoint as a volunteer in 1977 after receiving a master's degree in Social Work from California Polytechnic State University. She moved on to working with participants with disabilities in achieving independence as a staff member, in a variety of roles including instructor, behavior analyst, and case manager. In 1986, after receiving her MBA, she transitioned to an administrative position in human resources and held various management functions until 1994 when she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer.
"I always believed our participants could live meaningful and independent lives and I have dedicated my career towards that goal," explained Patty. "Years ago, the conventional solution was to care for individuals with disabilities in sheltered settings. Our approach was to help participants achieve maximum independence and blend into the community."
During Patty's tenure at PathPoint, she has helped the organization expand to five counties in Central and Southern California and increase and diversify services for more than 2,000 participants. Today, PathPoint's team of nearly 500 staff, full-time and part-time, work in 24 sites, including community housing.
"Patty has been the constant through many changes," said Lynn Storey, Vice President of Human Resources at PathPoint and Patty's colleague for more than two decades. "She has helped PathPoint adapt to changing conditions, including some economic downturns. Patty's expertise and judgement have guided us towards financial stability, essential in supporting our mission."
