What's New

California Budget Alert:  The California budget for 2011/12 again carried significant cuts for the programs and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families.  In addition to ongoing reimbursement reductions for service providers like PathPoint, individual services for people living on their own are under new requirements to make people live with roommates who have a similar disability in order to receive services in shared ways.  Day programs, which are staffed to meet current regulatory requirements, cannot bill for the day if a person leaves early for a family outing or a medical emergency!  This budget had over $500 million in new cuts to the dd system.  But now there's also "trigger language" that will force an additional $100 million in cuts in January 2012 if California's revenue targets are not met.  When will it end?

PathPoint has been named Nonprofit Organization of the Year by the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce!  Joining the ranks of other "Goleta's Finest" winners for 2011, PathPoint was honored to win in the category of Nonprofit Organization.  A special reception is held each year in November to celebrate Goleta's Finest.  Accepting the award on behalf of PathPoint this year are Alana Walczak, PathPoint VP for Santa Barbara County and Patty Enger, PathPoint Chief Financial Officer.
